The easiest and very widely use is Quickbooks.

You can download Ubuntu 7.10 version of Linux operating system. With that sofware you get gnucash, a full function bookkeeping software.
You also get a complete office suite, and all for the cost of a CD or DVD to load it onto.
I have Ubuntu dual booted with vista on one machine, dual with XP on the other.
I mostly use Ubuntu because that is where my office suite and accounting package are.
Files used by quickbooks or MS-Money will load into gnucash.
