Question by sam: What platform do you recommend I use to write a Bookkeeping program that I am planning to sell?
I have created for myself bookkeeping software for landlords and rental property managers. The software keeps track of the rent payments received from tenants and sends them a monthly rent bill. I use it in my own business and find it to be very useful. I have written the software with Microsoft access. I would like to try and sell it. Do you think the software should be rewritten on another platform for the commercial sale version and if so which one?
Thank you
sam

By “platform” do you mean another backend other than Access? Or do you mean another OS?
I would stick with Windows and aim to use the backend that requires the least amount of setup and configuration. Something embedded like SQLite or one of the Microsoft embedded databases or Access if the database can be used in a “standalone” manner without requiring Access.
