Interested in becoming a bookkeeper in a short amount of time.?
I have no experience. I don’t want to be a professional accounted even thou they make more. What do I need to learn to become a bookkeeper? I need to take an online school since I am station in Japan. Does anyone know of a good bookkeeping school? I look into the U.S. Career Institute, it takes 4 months to finish the course, but I not sure, if it is a good school.
I would recommend the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers at www.aipb.com.
They have books that you can get and study on your own filled with information and quizzes to help you learn. You can even take test to become a Certified Bookkeeper.
I have most of their books and they are good. You may find them cheaper at www.betterworld.com or Ebay.
There are also software programs you should learn. Microsoft Excel is an important one and QuickBooks. Most companies don’t keep their books by hand anymore – it’s all on computer.
