Are there any free accounting courses or internships?
I'm looking for free course to learn accounting. I have university degree in MGT / MKT. I would like to learn bookkeepign at home to start a bookkeeping service.
I do not know all accounting courses will be free of no value. I would recommend taking some courses at the local college, if you are serious about opening a bookkeeping service. You will have a difficult time finding customers, if you do not know what you are doing. I suggest taking at least a basic course in Accounting, a course in Excel and a course of Payroll, if you plan on make payroll. In addition, I recommend a course of QuickBooks or, better yet, become a QuickBooks ProAdvisor. You can check that www.quickbooks.com. There are plenty of people in QuickBooks and how to install and use this program is a great advantage. You have to check with your state regarding sales taxes and payroll taxes to see what should be and when. sales tax must be paid once a month and payroll taxes usually every month or quarter. Check the IRS website, as well as payroll taxes. You will learn about this in the payroll accounting. TIP: If you can not pay for the courses – to know what book is being used and the study itself. You may be able to buy the book cheaper on Ebay. I'd also recommend the American Institute of Professional Accountants in www.aipb.com. They have great books that you can study and you too can become a certified accountant. Good luck!
